Nesting 2.0

The clock reads 3:30am. My hips are aching and I’m absolutely wired. Sleep is not in the cards, so I quietly prop up my pillows and hoist myself (and my enormous bump) into an upright position, trying not to disturb my husband’s restful slumber. I pull out my phone and start pinning crockpot freezer meals and surfing box-store websites for a deal on a chest freezer – because I’m wondering how on earth I am going to feed my family once baby #2 arrives. I am in full-on nesting mode, even in the middle of the night.

Time to Rest

Last night after getting my little guy down for the evening, I immediately put on my pjs and made the trek down our creaky, wooden staircase where I found my husband sitting down to his laptop. He was about to dive into a few more hours of his workday because a last minute deadline had come up. I looked at the dirty dishes from the dinner I had made sprawled across the kitchen, as I thought of all the things on my to do list, which in theory I had another few hours to accomplish before bed...
